Norooz (Nowruz) is the Persian New Year celebration.
Starting March 17, join us on YouTube Live for a showcase of lively music, folk dance, and storytelling, featuring musician/composer Amir Amiri on the traditional santur.
Plus, Sanam presents a very special Farsi storytime to celebrate Norooz on March 20!

March 23 – 25 Our ebook publishing program is back for Spring Break with a three-day program for kids and teens. We'll be working on micro-writing; super short projects you can draft, revise, and publish quickly.
Wednesday, March 17, 4 – 5 p.m. Join this virtual workshop with the North Shore Black Bear Society and explore basic bear biology, bear behaviour, seasonal habits, and best practices for exploring in bear habitat. You’ll also learn what to do if you meet a black bear.
Thursday, March 25, 2 – 3:15 p.m. Learn how to identify these stingless pollinators and build a simple mason bee house from everyday household items. Using a special online magnifying tool, we will also investigate bee cocoons up-close and discover what makes their life-cycle so fascinating. Pick up your building kit at the Library after you register.
Thursday, March 11, 4 – 4:45 p.m. Open to all high school students, TAG is the Teen Advisory Group that meets once a month to discuss teen collections and programming as well as everyday issues affecting teens. Everyone is welcome.
The Friends of the Library continue to contribute to the Library’s warm and welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to generous donations from City Market Park Royal, we’ve been able to decorate the Library with these flower arrangements.

Anjili, a long-time resident of West Vancouver, is Associate Counsel with Terra Law Corporation. She previously served for four years as a Trustee of the West Vancouver Memorial Library and is now continuing her passion for libraries by offering her talents to the Foundation.
