Registration for
Summer Reading Club
starts Tuesday, June 1!

This year’s program is all virtual and we have something for everyone. For more information, kids (including pre-readers!) can visit wvml.ca/src for more information.

And we have something for older readers, too!

Starting June 1, students in Grades 6+ can also join the Teen Reading Club at wvml.ca/trc. 

Registration opens Tuesday, June 1.

Borrow a Chromebook laptop or WiFi hotspot

Thanks to a grant from the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF), the Province of British Columbia, and the West Vancouver Foundation, we have added 25 Chromebook laptops and five WiFi hotspots to our collection!

Dial-A-Story: A Phone-In Program for Adults

Thursdays, June 3 – 24, 2 – 3 p.m.   
Enjoy a short story read aloud, followed by group discussion. All you need is a phone.

From Dirt to Soil: Cultivating Living Soil in Your Garden

Saturday, June 5, 10 – 11 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 
Interested in cultivating healthy, living soil in your garden? Bring your questions and a sample of your garden soil and join soil scientists Amy and Raelani!

iNaturalist Programs

Tuesday, June 8 and 22, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. 
Get an introduction to iNaturalist, a community science website and app. Find out how you can use the app to learn about nature and share your observations. Then, learn how to use Excel to sort, summarize, format, and visualize the data. Register for one or both sessions.

Cleaning up Our Backyard

Tuesday, June 8, 8 – 9 p.m. 
Learn about Metro Vancouver's single-use items reduction strategies, and how we can help the ocean and all our ecosystems by taking action in our own backyard.

Join us to celebrate audiobook month! Learn how you can listen to great stories online in the form of podcasts, audiobooks, and streaming radio through your own devices or through the Library’s new loanable iPods.

This is our last meeting of the school year! All students in Grades 8-12 are welcome to participate (even if this is their first time) and will receive volunteer credit.
