Friends of the Library
2022 has been uplifting for the Friends. We are back serving refreshment at the very popular Friday Night Concerts and we were able to host our Remembrance Day Reception. Over 400 patrons joined us for coffee, tea, and cookies, and the Lions Gate Brass quintet made the event even more memorable.

In December, our Book Cart will be featuring children’s books--most will be specially priced and are great for gift giving.

In keeping with our tradition we will be putting up and decorating a live tree along with a few pointsettias to help add a warm holiday welcome at our Library. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.

WVML Foundation
On November 3, we hosted our first major fundraising event in three years with bestselling author and former
Supreme Court Justice Beverley McLachlin. It was a wonderful conversation, expertly moderated by WVML Director Stephanie Hall, about Beverley's experiences growing up,
her time on the Supreme Court of Canada, and her work as an author.

With your support, we raised over $47,000. Thank you to all who bought tickets and donated, especially our
sponsors: British Pacific Properties, Grosvenor, Lawson Lundell LLP, North Shore News, Roper Greyell LLP, Leith
Wheeler Investment Counsel, and Westerleigh PARC.

Thanks to a generous donation, a group of UBC law students attended (pictured above with Beverley).
