The Day the World Stops Shopping | Author Talk
Consuming less is our best strategy for saving the planet—but is it possible? On October 26, award-winning author J.B. MacKinnon will be joined by CBC's Margaret Gallagher at the Library to tackle this conundrum and discuss his latest book, The Day the World Stops Shopping.
Over the coming months, work is happening to create more space for events and gatherings in the Main Hall, increase storage, and make the Help Desk more welcoming.
It's fall, which means it's time to check out books from our autumnal reading booklist, drink Pumpkin Spice Lattes at the café, and attend spooky Halloween-themed events at the Library, like Audio Puzzles, Escape Rooms, and the screening of the movie Hocus Pocus.

Storytelling, Songs and Crafts with Lisa Lewis|Ages 5-9

Join Lisa Lewis, a Squamish Nation author, as she reads her book Tsunaxen’s Journey and teaches traditional Squamish songs and crafts. This is the perfect way to keep kids engaged when school is closed for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Truth and Reconciliation Teen Reading Circle|Grades 8-12
Thursday, October 5, 3:45 – 4:45 p.m Teens will engage in meaningful conversations and gain new insights from Sam George’s memoir, The Fire Still Burns: Life In and After Residential School.
The Summer Reading Club Medal Ceremony was a wonderful evening! The Friends of the Library were happy to be a part of this with Kim Vogt and the Library's teen volunteers managing the refreshments.
