Experience the Witness Blanket, a large-scale art installation

Inspired by a universal symbol of protection—a woven blanket—the Witness Blanket by BC artist Carey Newman tells stories of residential school Survivors through 800 donated items from across Canada, including many from BC.

The Witness Blanket Opening Reception

Celebrate the opening of the Witness Blanket with a Traditional Welcome and blessing by Chepximiya Siyam’  Chief Janice George of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation).

Thanks to your generous donations, we raised over $45,000 for the Library, exceeding our Give the Gift of Healthy Aging fundraising goal of $30,000. This will allow us to continue to provide accessible services and more support to local seniors.
